iPod shuffle not home in New York

Was following the keynote speech by Steve Jobs yesterday and they released the iPod shuffle and the apple website was updated pretty much instantly... with a note under the iPod shuffle available now.. i was actually in soho, new york and across the street from the apple store.. we went in and i asked the apple person working in the ipod area upstairs if i could buy an ipod shuffle... her response ? "whats an ipod shuffle?"

apparently there were crazy scenes at the apple store in san fran when steve jobs said at the end of the speech that he's heard a rumour that they were at that store... perhaps the shuffles missed their little flight to new york...
