you cannot go one block in new york without people trying to give you a flyer on 'vote for kerry' or 'vote for bush'. i was in soho yesterday and i guy yells, 'have you got your anti george w bush tshirt yet ?' and sure enough there he was with a stack of tshirts that had a big anti crosss sign though george w bush's face.

in the US i sometimes feel like its more about rivalry - similar to the rivalry between sporting teams. its not so much about the policies or what the guy has done in the past.... it seems to be whether your team wins so you can say haha to your opposing friends.
